First sock, second pair

Finished the first sock of the second pair.

I wound 100g of Posh Yarn Martha onto two 50g gm balls. Cast on the same number of stitches as last time (64) but used a size smaller needle (2mm). The result was a sock that fitted my UK size 3 foot perfectly. I kept notes as I knitted, weighing the yarn (50g of Posh Martha) as I completed each stage of construction. 14g remained after completion. 12g could be added to the leg length stage to make a longer sock for the next pair.

Martha is ideal yarn for this simple pattern.

Posh Yarn Martha:
Fingering / 4 ply
80% Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon
440yds per 100 gms

Pattern:
Just Yer Basic Sock by Alyson Johnson (need to be a member of Ravelry to view the pattern)

Now working on the second sock. There should  be 28g of yarn left over after the pair is completed.

ETA - 4th September 2010

Finishedthe second sock and have lots of yarn left over. Casting on Hermione's Everyday Socks and will knit the leg until there is only 18g left on the 50g ball.
