More cowls

After a spate of knitting fairly demanding shawls, I decided to do some cowls, in the hopes that they would take less time to knit.

Unblocked cowl

I chose a lovely lace pattern and yes, it did take less time to knit, but concentration is required and it had to be worked in private.  Stitch markers proved useful (the pattern is a ten stitch repeat over eight rows) and it was possible to work it while watching TV (even Doctor Who).

Cowl on blocking wires

Worked in Posh Valerie Heavy  Lace, 70% merino, 20% silk, 10% cashmere (colour Waiting on the Gold Rush) on 4mm circular needles.

Being lazy, I started by knitting 4 rows of garter stitch before joining in the round, thus avoiding rounds of purl stitches.

Blocking has really opened up the very pretty lace.
