It is chilly, cold, freezing outside, definitely the weather for gloves. The problem with gloves is that it's difficult to do anything needing nimble fingers while wearing them, like taking a debit card out of a wallet, or even using car or house keys.
The solution to this problem is fingerless mitts. I happen to have a kit that was given away with Issue 73 of Simply Knitting magazine. The resulting pair of wrist warmers is a little too big for me but I'm not unraveling them to knit a smaller pair.
