Posh lace

A supersoft lightweight hat in sock yarn. For this project, I used Posh Yarn Miranda 2ply - two strands held together in the colourway Tiddly Pom.




Materials:
100 grams of lace-weight yarn. Less than 50 grams used. 2 strands of 2ply held together throughout, or use sock weight (4pl)yarn

Uses aprox 0.25grams for average adult head.

Knitted in single strand of 2ply produces a child-sized hat.

Needles:
3.75 circulars
3.25 double pointed set

Instructions
Using 3.75mm circular needles and the cable cast-on, cast on 112 stitches.

K 4 rows
Place Marker to mark beginning of round. Join in the round, taking care not to twist.
K 1 round

Lace pattern
Round 1: K2, *YO, K2Tog, K2* repeat to end
K 3 rounds
Round 5: *Y0, K2 Tog, K2* repeat to end

Repeat rounds 1 - 5 a further 4 times (Five in total)
End of lace pattern

K 2 rounds
P1 round
K 1 round

K all rounds until work measures between 5 and 5.5 inches.

Decrease When too few sts remain, switch to dpns.

Shape crown

K 1 round.
For child-sized only in 2ply
