0.25 skein Lion Brand Homespun (Colour A)
0.5 skein Lion Brand Homespun (Colour b)
Needles: 6mm straight
6mm circular
6mm double-pointed
Instructions
Using 6mm straight needles, cast on 74 stitches, in colour A
Row 1: Knit
Knit 2 rows
Row 2: Knit 6, K2 *YO, K2Tog* repeat from * to last two stitches, K2
Row 3: K
Row 4: Knit 6 K1 *YO, K2Tog* repeat from * to last stitch, YO K1
Row 5: K
Repeat Rows 2 and 3
Row 6: Cast off 8 stitches, K to end
Row 7: Switch to 6mm circular needles, K to end
Row 8: place stitch marker, join in the round, taking care not to twist. K
Row 9: K
Row 10: Join colour B and knit 1 round
Row 10: K in colour A
Row 11: K in colour B
Row 12: K in colour A
Row 13: K in colour B
Continue in colour B until total depth is 5 - 5.5. inches.
Begin decrease rows - even rows are K
At some point, you will need to change to DP needles
Row 1: *K7, k2 Tog* to end of row.
Row 3: *K6, K2 tog* to end of row
Row 5: *K5, K2 tog* to end of row
Row 7: *K5, K2 tog* to end of row
Row 9: *K4, K2 tog* to end of row
Row 11: *K3, K2 tog* to end of row
Row 13: *K2, K2 tog* to end of row
Row 15: *K1, K2 tog* to end of row
Row 17: *K2 tog* to end of row
Finishing
Cut yarn, thread through remaining stitches, slip off needle and pull tight.
Stitch flap to eyelet band and add button if desired.
Weave in all ends.
